Our Mission Matters

What We Do

The John August Cook Fund is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of disadvantaged families.

Our charity focuses on addressing the challenges faced by single parents raising children with disabilities in India. We strive to provide essential support, resources, and a voice to those who need it most, enhancing their quality of life and enabling children to thrive in nurturing environments.

The Fund commemorates John Cook, a developmental challenged young man who was killed by a New York City subway.

Allen Cook is a Professor of Mathematic Education and former Dean of School of Education of the University of Bridgeport; Matthew Cook is a Professor of Post-Colonial and South Asian Studies at North Carolina Central University and President of American Institute of Pakistani Studies; Jacob Cook and Oliver Yan are Students at Apex Friendship High School in Apex, North Carolina both involved in community outreach through volunteer clubs and discount car detailing services.
